Privacy Policy

Almora designs, builds, and manages websites and booking tools for local service businesses. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have — including how our text messaging works.

Who we are

Almora (“Almora,” “we,” “us”) operates almorasites.com and the websites and booking tools we build and host for local service businesses. We are based in Portland, Oregon. Questions about this policy can be sent to hello@almorasites.com, or by mail to Almora, c/o Ryan Arndt, 5331 S Macadam Ave Ste 258 PMB 1129, Portland, OR 97239-3871.

Information we collect

  • Business account information. When a business works with Almora, we collect contact details such as the business name, the owner’s name, email address, and the mobile number entered in notification settings.
  • Service request details. When a customer submits a service request on a business’s website, we collect what the form asks for: name, mobile number, optional email, the service address, a description of the job, and preferred arrival windows. We process this on behalf of that business so it can respond.
  • Business contact information from public sources. We keep a list of local service businesses we may contact about our service. It holds business details only: the business name, its published address, phone number, website, and where a business has published one, a business email address. It comes from public sources such as state licence registries, business directories and business websites. We use it to send business-to-business emails introducing Almora. You can tell us to stop at any time using the unsubscribe link in any of those emails, or by emailing privacy@almorasites.com, and we will suppress that address across our list.
  • Assistant conversations. If a website we host offers a chat assistant, what you type is sent to an outside AI provider so it can produce a reply.
  • Technical data. Standard logs needed to run and secure the service, such as request records and delivery status of notifications.

How we use information

We use personal information to operate the service: building and hosting websites, delivering job-request alerts and booking updates by text message and email, responding to enquiries, taking payment, and keeping the platform secure.

We also use the business contact information described above to introduce Almora to local service businesses by email. That is marketing, and we say so plainly rather than describing it as operating the service. It is sent to businesses rather than to consumers at home, and every message carries a working unsubscribe link. We honor every opt-out within ten business days and suppress that address from future sends.

We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for third-party advertising, and we never use a service request, a booking, or a phone number given to a business for any marketing at all.

Text messaging (SMS)

  • Consent. We text you only if you have asked us to. Business owners opt in by entering a mobile number in the notification settings of their Almora portal and separately ticking a consent box that is unchecked by default. Customers opt in by entering a mobile number on a service request form and separately ticking a consent box that is unchecked by default. In both cases the box is optional: leaving it unticked does not stop you using the service, and a number given without it is used only for a phone call, never a text. The complete consent experience for both is published at almorasites.com/sms-consent-evidence.
  • Frequency. Message frequency varies with booking and service activity, typically 1 to 5 messages per job request and no more than 20 per month.
  • Rates. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
  • Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at hello@almorasites.com.
  • No marketing use. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except with service providers acting on our behalf solely to deliver those messages.

When we share information

We share personal information only with the service providers that run the platform on our behalf — hosting, database, message delivery, payment processing, email address verification, and the AI providers behind our content generation and site assistant — each bound to use it only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information when the law requires it. Service request details are shared with the business the customer contacted, which is the point of submitting them.

Retention

We keep personal information for as long as the related account is active or as needed to handle service requests, then for any period the law requires. You can ask us to delete information we hold about you by emailing privacy@almorasites.com; we will honor the request unless we are legally required to keep it.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect the information we hold, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit what we collect to what the service needs.

Children

Our services are for businesses and their customers and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we will post the updated version here with a new effective date. Questions, requests, or concerns: hello@almorasites.com.
